Inc. Magazine Honors LW for 2nd Year
Aug 20, 01:44 PMGig Harbor, WA based staffing firm LaborWorks has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the country for the second consecutive year. The list is the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Taken as a whole, these companies represent the backbone of the U.S. economy. The 5000 companies that made the list reported aggregate revenue of $185 billion and median three-year growth of 147 percent. Most important, the 2008 Inc. 5000 companies were engines of job growth, having created more than 826,033 jobs since those companies were founded.
“Our second annual Inc. 5000 continues the most ambitious project in business journalism,” said Inc. 5000 Project Manager Jim Melloan. “The Inc. 5000 gives an unrivalled portrait of young, underreported companies across all industries doing fascinating things with cutting-edge business models, as well as older companies that are still showing impressive growth.”
Since opening its first branch in 1998, LaborWorks has grown to 15 locations in the Pacific Northwest. Its success is due in no small part to the vision of its owner and CEO, Scott Sabo. “We pride ourselves on delivering quality temporary workers to our customers quickly and with minimal effort on their part,” Sabo said. Employers who choose LaborWorks benefit from its “No Hassle Hiring” program where they take care of all paperwork, taxes and employer burdens such as garnishments. LaborWorks has the ability to match workers with employers in a variety of fields including general labor, construction, landscaping, warehousing and assembly. Workers can choose either daily or weekly pay and are provided with both safety equipment and training. Utilizing the services that LaborWorks offers allows companies to concentrate on their business and workers to hone their job skills. . . a win-win for both. “Our making the Inc. 5000 list a second time is a huge honor that everyone at LaborWorks contributed to and can be very proud of,” Sabo added. LaborWorks currently has twelve branches in Western Washington including Seattle, Tacoma, Kent, Auburn and Olympia.
116 companies from Washington made this year’s list. Of those, 15 came from the Business Services category followed closely by IT Services and Advertising & Marketing with 13 each. Rounding out the top industries were Construction and Software (9 each), Manufacturing (8) and Health (6). LaborWorks is one of only three staffing companies from Washington to make the list.
